You will eventually fail

He gets passing grades and he doesn’t even have to try
He is content with second-best because he knows it will get him by
But the one thing he may never learn
is that some things have to be earned
And you will eventually fail if your goal is only to survive

Our dream must be for more than simply being comfortable in life
We will not persevere very long without a better future in mind
Sometimes the best thing you can become
is discontent with what you’ve known
You will eventually fail if your goal is only to survive

leaving busted

Come on! Get on the bus, Ted.”

Sara was so excited to finally be leaving that she was starting to get tired of waiting.
She was tired of sixteen years of fighting. She was tired of shallow conversation and empty promises.
She was tired of pretending she was happy when she just wanted to leave.

And she was tired of sitting on a bus in the station waiting for Ted to get on.

Sara knew that as soon as the bus pulled out of that little town and carried her far away from her parent’s house, she would be ok.
