“Come on! Get on the bus, Ted.”
Sara was so excited to finally be leaving that she was
starting to get tired of waiting.
She was tired of sixteen years of fighting. She was tired of
shallow conversation and empty promises.
She was tired of pretending she was happy when she just
wanted to leave.
And she was tired of sitting on a bus in the station waiting
for Ted to get on.
Sara knew that as soon as the bus pulled out of that little
town and carried her far away from her parent’s house, she would be ok.
